The city of Culver City, California needed a simple Enterprise report browser/viewer interface that could be easily integrated into their existing intranet. They wanted to use the now-standard interface of an interactive tree on the left to browse their folders and reports.
But they also had a few special customizations in mind. Their users needed to be able to save various 'versions' of reports for later use. Those versions would contain parameter values so they would not have to be re-entered every time. But their users also needed to be able to define new 'filters' (record selection) on any field, from any table, even if those filters didn't exist in the report. The saving of these versions and their informaiton was accomplished using Enterprise's built-in scheduling tools with a twist - the report versions would be scheduled to run far in the future, which would keep them to be referenced as needed.
